This paper investigates the conditions under which Subject Aux
Inversion (raising of T to C) is
possible in informal Englishes and
draws theoretical conclusions from the investigation having
to do with (i)
the syntax of head-movement, (ii) the syntactic character of interrogative
clauses
and (iii) the semantics and pragmatics of questions.
